Palliative Care Consultant
This part\-time, 12 month fixed\-term Consultant in Palliative Medicine post has been established to provide maternity leave cover from September 2026\.
Palliative care in North Derbyshire has, for the last 20 years, adopted a medically integrated model of working across all the healthcare environments, and all of our Trust employed Consultants are indemnified and covered by access agreements to enable them to care for patients across the North Derbyshire healthcare community, including at Ashgate Hospice and with the Community Palliative Care team.
The role will be split between hospital and community settings with the postholder providing care across both environments. In addition, the postholder will be expected to provide senior cross\-cover for the Ashgate hospice inpatient unit during periods of sickness, annual leave, or other planned and unplanned absences to support service resilience and continuity of care.
