Headquartered at Knowsley Business Park, we predominantly import fresh produce and fruit from all areas of the world including Europe and the Southern Hemisphere to package and distribute to some of the UK’s major retailers and wholesale markets.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit Pack House Packers to join Peter Gilding Fruit Packers Limited to provide support to our Pack House Team on the following shift pattern:
· Monday to Friday \- Day Shift (up to 42\.5 hours per week)
The hours of work across each of the days are:
· Monday to Friday \- 07:30am to 4:20pm
This role is a good opportunity for individuals who are looking for full\-time work, five days per week. The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for tipping, packing and grading fruit to the correct quality as directed by the Line Leader, Supervisor or Management. The Pack House Packer position(s) will be offered on a twelve (12\) month fixed term contract. Please note that this role is based within a chilled environment and will involve manual handling.
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
· Packing produce for our customers to a high standard.
· Quality checking produce \- communicating any issues / quality concerns to the Pack House Management team.
· Working as part of a team to ensure production lines are operated effectively.
· General housekeeping responsibilities, keeping the workplace clean and tidy. Responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene within your working area, ensuring customer and supplier standards are adhered to at all times.
· Adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures; including the correct wearing of PPE.
About You
For this role, experience is desirable, not essential as on\-site training will be provided. Previous experience working with Fresh Produce / working within a fast\-paced / warehousing environment(s) would be highly regarded. At times, the position can be physically demanding, therefore a reasonable level of physical fitness is required.
To be successful in this role, you will be:
· Self–motivated, with the ability to prioritise and work independently.
· Have excellent communication skills including written / spoken English.
· Good numeracy skills.
· Team player – Ability to work as part of a team. Supportive of others.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Physical requirement \- Ability to lift between 15kg and 18kg.
