ORAH Care provides safe, nurturing and trauma\-informed care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Our registered solo\-bedded children's home in Prescot, Knowsley, allows us to deliver highly individualised care using a PACE\-informed and therapeutic approach. Salary and Working Pattern
£13\.00 per hour
2 on / 4 off shift pattern, including sleep\-ins
£60 sleep\-in allowance
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide day\-to\-day care within a structured, therapeutic and trauma\-informed environment. You will help children and young people build independence, develop life skills and feel safe within a consistent and nurturing home.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). An understanding of neurodiversity and the ability to adapt your approach to meet individual communication, sensory, emotional and behavioural needs would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high\-quality, child\-centred care that promotes safety, stability and emotional wellbeing.
- Use PACE and trauma\-informed strategies to support children and young people and promote positive outcomes.
- Support children and young people with additional needs, including ASD and ADHD, using an understanding, patient and individualised approach.
- Promote emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
- Support daily routines, education, appointments, activities and the development of life skills.
- Maintain accurate, clear and professional records.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure consistent care.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards the qualification.
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential, care or similar setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting children and young people with ASD and ADHD is highly desirable.
- An understanding of neurodiversity and the importance of adapting care to meet individual needs.
- A caring, patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
- The ability to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations.
- Strong communication, teamwork and record\-keeping skills.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
- £13\.00 per hour.
- £60 sleep\-in allowance.
