Outdoor Market Assistant Manager/Salesperson

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Market Assistant/Salesperson to join our team. This role involves working at our three Saturday/Sunday markets in Edinburgh, selling on three stalls and assisting in set\-up and pull down of the market. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your experience within a lively environment, engaging with a wide range of customers and traders.

Responsibilities

• Drive to and from the market sites at the start and the end of the day


• Assist in team set\-up of the markets at the start of the day and pull\-down at the end of the day


• Provide cover for the market managers during holidays


• Set\-up stalls including products displays to attract customers and maximise sales


• Manage sales transactions, including processing payments and handling customer enquiries


• Assist in leading and motivating a team of market assistants, providing guidance and support where and when required


• Communicate effectively with customers enhancing their shopping experience


• Assist in training new team members on product knowledge, customer service standards and procedures


• Manage time efficiently to meet timescales

Qualifications

• Full Drivers Licence


• Fit and energetic \- work involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing


• Experience in food retail or sales, preferably within a market environment


• Supervising or team management experience is highly desirable


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and organise a team effectively


• Excellent communication skills


• Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude


• Passionate about small local business
