Out of School Club Practitioner
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Out of School Club Practitioner to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children outside of school hours. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for working with children. You will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering activities that promote learning and development while ensuring the well\-being of all children in your care.
This role will include a split shift during term time consisting of a morning and afternoon shift then in half terms full days will be required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting the children from school premises, getting them to our minibus in an safe and efficient manor and back to our setting.
- Supervise and engage with children during club activities, ensuring their safety and well\-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age\-appropriate activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Manage daily operations of the club, including planning, setting up and tidying the environment before and after sessions.
- Support children in developing social skills through positive interactions and conflict resolution strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and best practices in childcare.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and mentoring of new staff members as required.
- Opportunity for extra hours during half terms by working in our Holiday club provision
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
- A background in early childhood education or nursery experience is highly desirable.
- Strong management and leadership abilities to effectively guide staff and engage children.
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A strong work ethic and reliability is a essential.
