The role:

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Orthotist to join the NHSGGC Orthotics Team, delivering high\-quality care across a diverse and rewarding clinical caseload. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Base Location, Gartnavel General Hospital


• Full Time Position (36 hours per week)


• Permanent Contract


• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 am \- 04:30 pm

• Manage a defined clinical caseload, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of patients with a range of complex needs


• Work autonomously and within multi\-professional teams to deliver coordinated patient\-centred care across inpatient and outpatient settings


• Prescribe supply and review appropriate orthotic devices or alternative treatment plans to support recovery and function


• Prioritise workload effectively across clinics, wards and domiciliary visits, ensuring timely service delivery


• Supervise support and delegate tasks to orthotic assistants, technicians, and students on placement


• Contribute to clinical audit quality improvement and service development initiatives using evidence\-based practice


• Communicate complex information clearly to patients, carers, and colleagues to support informed decision making and engagement in treatment

• Honours Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent qualification


• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)


• Evidence of relevant postgraduate CPD aligned to Level 5 of the NMAHP Development Framework


• Demonstrable knowledge of orthotic practice across a range of clinical conditions and healthcare settings


• Ability to work independently using clinical reasoning and sound judgement within the scope of practice


• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to motivate and support patients


• Working knowledge of IT systems for clinical documentation, audit, and communication
