Orthotic Technician
About the role
Do you have a talent for working with your hands and an eye for detail? We have an exciting opportunity for Experienced Technicians to join our Sheffield manufacturing team working in Insoles, Footwear and Footwear repairs and Adapts, Metal and leather work
You will craft individually tailored footwear, insole and orthotic solutions that make a real difference to patients' lives. Working with high\-quality leather, metal, and specialist materials, you will produce bespoke orthopaedic footwear — including repairs, adaptations, and custom insoles — to exact clinical specifications.
What you'll be doing
- Manufacturing bespoke footwear including repairs, adaptations, and custom insoles to individual patient specifications
- Working with leather, metalwork, and specialist materials using hand tools, cutting, sewing, and finishing equipment
- Reading and interpreting manufacturing specifications to produce work to the highest quality standards
- Carrying out self\-inspection to ensure every item meets clinical and quality requirements before dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, organised workstation and completing job sheets accurately
- Contributing ideas to improve processes and efficiency within the team
- Working collaboratively across the team and supporting colleagues as needed
- Experienced technicians who have worked or are working within the sector
- Ability to work independently manufacturing Devices stated
- Produce good quality work
- Strong hand/eye coordination and practical hands\-on skills — you enjoy making things to a high standard
- Good understanding of leather, metal, and textile materials (or genuine enthusiasm to learn)
- Ability to read and work to detailed manufacturing specifications
- A quality\-first mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a positive, team\-oriented attitude
- Ability to manage your own workload and work with minimal supervision
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential — full training is provided
