Job Type: Full\-Time 5 Days a Week (Monday \- Saturday, 9:00 AM \- 5:30 PM) may consider Part time to be discussed.

We’re now looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Optical Assistant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and goes above and beyond. You must have a keen eye for detail, and want to be part of a forward\-thinking, family\-run practice known for innovation and quality.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited too:
- Pre\-testing: Carry out pre\-screening tests prior to eye examinations, including retinal imaging and visual field assessments, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort.
- Dispensing Support: Assist clients in frame selection, style advice and lens options, ensuring every pair of glasses suits their lifestyle and prescription.
- Adjustments \& Repairs: Perform minor frame adjustments, fittings and small repairs to maintain comfort and prolong the life of clients’ eyewear.
- Customer Care: Welcome patients on arrival, handle phone and email enquiries, and guide them smoothly through their appointments.
- Administrative Support: Manage bookings, process payments, maintain accurate patient records, and assist with inventory, deliveries and ordering when required.
- Practice Presentation: Keep the showroom, equipment and displays immaculate and organised, reflecting our commitment to excellence.
- Team Collaboration: Support optometrists and dispensing opticians in daily clinic flow, ensuring each client receives seamless care.
- Ongoing Development: We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning new things and wants to continue developing their skills. We provide full training, and we love team members who take initiative and ask for opportunities to grow.
\- Previous experience in optics, retail, or customer service is preferred but not essential — full training provided.
\- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
\- Confident using technology and managing digital systems.
\- A genuine interest in fashion, design, and helping people look and feel their best.
\- We welcome candidates withoptical experience, though this isn’t essential — full training will be provided.
\- Experience in an independent or high\-end practice is an advantage due to the technical nature of pre\-testing and adjustments
