Silverthornes Opticians is a well\-established independent practice located in the heart of Salisbury. Known for our personal touch and high standard of eye care, we’re proud to serve our local community with professionalism and compassion. As we grow, we're looking to welcome an enthusiastic Optical Assistant to our friendly team. About the Role:

As our Optical Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of the practice – the first person patients see or speak to when they get in touch. You’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and caring patient experience.

Ideally, you have some experience working in Optics. Key Responsibilities:* Greeting patients and visitors with a warm, professional manner

• Booking and managing appointments via our digital system


• Answering phone and email enquiries efficiently


• Taking payments and handling till operations


• Keeping reception tidy, stocked, and patient\-friendly


• Updating and maintaining patient records


• Pre\-screening patients, dispensing


• Assisting with frame selection, repairing and adjustment of frames


• Collections

• Excellent communication and people skills


• Confidence using basic computer systems


• Organised, dependable, and detail\-oriented


• Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure

3 days a week, including some Saturdays About Salisbury:

Salisbury is a beautiful and historic city in Wiltshire, famous for its stunning cathedral, charming medieval streets, and friendly community atmosphere.
