We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team as an Engineering Apprentice at our Nicholas \& Harris site as part of Finsbury Food Group.
Nicholas \& Harris has over 180 years of heritage in craft baking methods. If you like artisanal and speciality breads, or have special dietary or nutritional preferences, our Salisbury bakery has you covered!
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in engineering through a structured Maintenance \& Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) Level 3 Apprenticeship. Combining hands\-on practical experience with nationally recognised qualifications, you’ll gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career within engineering and manufacturing.
Working alongside experienced engineers and operational teams, you’ll learn how to maintain, repair, and improve the machinery, equipment and systems that keep our bakery operating safely and efficiently. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll receive ongoing support, mentoring and development whilst working towards industry\-recognised engineering qualifications.

This is what you’ll actually do!
As an Engineering Apprentice, you will work alongside our experienced Engineering team, gaining practical experience across a wide range of engineering activities that support the safe and efficient operation of our bakery. You will learn how to install, maintain, service and repair production equipment whilst developing your understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
Throughout the programme, you will support planned preventative maintenance activities, assist with fault finding and repairs, and help maintain the performance and reliability of production machinery and site services. You’ll also gain exposure to equipment commissioning, plant operations, production changeovers and continuous improvement activities, whilst developing a strong understanding of food safety, health \& safety, and engineering best practice.
Through a combination of workplace learning and formal training, you’ll build the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to become a qualified engineering professional.

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Self\-motivated with ability to work to tight deadlines within a fast\-moving environment
- Willing to challenge constructively and consider others’ perspectives
- Attention to detail with a commitment to high standards
- IT skills (Microsoft Office, MRP systems, Optimity)
- Key User in M3 (Preferrable, not essential)
