Mentor Distribution is seeking a proactive and organised Operations Team Lead to join the team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This role is key in supporting the smooth day\-to\-day running of operations, ensuring effective communication across departments and maintaining high levels of service to both internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands\-on support to both the Customer Services team and Warehouse team, ensuring efficient daily operations
- Respond to and manage emails and phone calls across multiple departments in a professional and timely manner
- Carry out basic purchasing duties, including raising orders and liaising with suppliers
- Act as a central point of contact, liaising with different departments to ensure smooth coordination
- Oversee and manage bookings, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Assist in improving processes and maintaining operational efficiency
- Support team members and provide guidance where needed
- Previous experience in an operations, team lead, or supervisor role
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities
- Excellent problem\-solving skills with a proactive approach
- Comfortable handling a high volume of emails and calls
- Experience with basic purchasing processes (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast\-paced environment
- Team player with a positive, can\-do attitude
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
