Operations Team Lead (Maternity Cover – Temporary Position)

Mentor Distribution is seeking a proactive and organised Operations Team Lead to join the team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This role is key in supporting the smooth day\-to\-day running of operations, ensuring effective communication across departments and maintaining high levels of service to both internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands\-on support to both the Customer Services team and Warehouse team, ensuring efficient daily operations


• Respond to and manage emails and phone calls across multiple departments in a professional and timely manner


• Carry out basic purchasing duties, including raising orders and liaising with suppliers


• Act as a central point of contact, liaising with different departments to ensure smooth coordination


• Oversee and manage bookings, ensuring accuracy and timely updates


• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues as they arise


• Assist in improving processes and maintaining operational efficiency


• Support team members and provide guidance where needed

• Previous experience in an operations, team lead, or supervisor role


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• Ability to work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities


• Excellent problem\-solving skills with a proactive approach


• Comfortable handling a high volume of emails and calls


• Experience with basic purchasing processes (desirable)


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast\-paced environment

• Team player with a positive, can\-do attitude


• Reliable and able to work independently


• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
