Operations Supervisor / Team Leader
Q Fire Protection \& Carpentry is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor /Team Leader to join our growing team. This is a hands\-on leadership role combining operational management with project delivery across fire protection and carpentry works within commercial and residential sectors throughout Scotland.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and the Technical Manager to oversee day\-to\-day operations, manage projects from start to completion, lead a team of approximately 10 staff, and help ensure the continued growth and success of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with strong organisational skills, leadership ability, and industry experience within passive fire protection, fire doors, or construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supporting a team of installers and operational staff
- Organising daily workloads, schedules, and site activities
- Managing multiple fire protection and carpentry projects from start to completion
- Coordinating labour, materials, subcontractors, and site programmes
- Working closely with the Technical Manager to ensure compliance and quality standards are maintained
- Ensuring fire door installations and inspections are completed safely, correctly, and on time
- Conducting site visits, progress meetings, and quality inspections
- Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, and site managers
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard
- Monitoring health \& safety procedures and fire safety compliance across all projects
- Preparing quotations, project reports, valuations, paperwork, and programme updates
- Resolving on\-site issues efficiently and professionally
- Helping improve operational efficiency and workflow throughout the company
- Previous experience within project management, fire protection, carpentry, or construction is essential
- Strong understanding of passive fire protection works, fire doors, and site operations
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and staff effectively
- Knowledge of fire door regulations and compliance standards preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast\-paced environment
- Full UK driving licence
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- CSCS card
- BM Trada or other passive fire protection knowledge
- Experience within social housing, commercial, or public sector projects
