Operations Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable and driven Operations Manager (E\-Commerce, Retail \& Trade Growth) to take responsibility for the day\-to\-day running and ongoing development of our home improvements business.
We operate across online retail, showrooms, and wholesale B2B trade supply, and we are looking for someone who can bring these areas together into a highly efficient, well\-run, and growth\-focused operation.
This is a senior, hands\-on role for someone who thrives on ownership, accountability, and commercial performance. You will be expected to run the business as if it were your own — ensuring everything operates smoothly while actively driving sales growth across all channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Operations
- Oversee the daily running of online, showroom, and trade operations
- Ensure smooth coordination between sales, customer service, logistics, and suppliers
- Improve operational efficiency across order processing, fulfilment, and aftersales
- Identify and implement system and process improvements to support scale
- Monitor and improve online sales performance and conversion rates
- Work to improve product presentation, pricing strategy, and customer journey
- Ensure showroom performance is optimised for lead generation and conversions
- Analyse sales data and identify growth opportunities across channels
- Manage and grow relationships with trade and wholesale customers
- Support development of pricing structures and trade account strategy
- Identify new B2B opportunities and support business development efforts
- Lead and manage staff across showroom, warehouse, and office functions
- Ensure all team members are clear on responsibilities and performing effectively
- Set expectations, monitor performance, and maintain accountability
- Build a strong, customer\-focused and high\-performance culture
- Work closely with external marketing agencies to drive traffic and sales growth
- Ensure marketing activity supports both e\-commerce and showroom performance
- Review campaign performance and ensure strong return on investment
- Help shape product promotions and seasonal campaigns
- Oversee stock flow and coordination with suppliers and manufacturers
- Support purchasing decisions and product availability planning
- Ensure pricing, margins, and profitability targets are maintained
- Monitor key commercial KPIs across all channels
We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership and thinks like a business operator rather than a manager.
You will ideally be:
- Experienced in retail, e\-commerce, trade supply, or a similar multi\-channel business
- Commercially minded with a strong focus on sales, margins, and growth
- Confident managing people, suppliers, and external partners
- Highly organised with strong problem\-solving skills
- Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Someone who actively looks for ways to improve and grow a business
- Prefers a narrow, task\-based job description
- Needs constant direction or supervision
- Is uncomfortable being accountable for performance and results
- Only wants a standard retail or office management role
- Is looking for a 9\-5 role
