About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Operations Manager to lead and oversee our warehouse and customer service operations. This role is responsible for managing a fast\-paced warehouse operation of 25 employees and a Customer Services department of 15 employees, while ensuring operational efficiency, commercial performance, and outstanding customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, container inbound management, customer service leadership, and Health \& Safety compliance. This is a hands\-on leadership role requiring excellent organizational, communication, and problem\-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operations \& Warehouse Management
- Lead and manage daily warehouse operations involving a team of 25 employees
- Ensure efficient receiving, storage, inventory handling, and dispatch processes
- Maintain high operational standards, productivity, and service levels
- Develop and implement operational procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational performance
- Manage and support a Customer Services team of 15 employees
- Ensure timely and professional handling of customer inquiries and complaints
- Drive customer satisfaction and service excellence
- Establish service standards and performance targets
- Oversee container inbound scheduling and coordination
- Manage daily logistics activities and transportation planning
- Monitor logistics expenses and identify cost\-saving opportunities
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight partners, and internal departments
- Ensure timely and efficient flow of goods through the supply chain
- Monitor commercial performance and operational profitability
- Analyze operational and logistics data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Prepare operational reports and performance updates for senior management
- Support business growth initiatives and operational scalability
- Ensure full compliance with Health \& Safety regulations and warehouse operational standards
- Promote a strong safety culture across all operational teams
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and operational reviews
- Implement best practices in warehouse safety and operational compliance
- Ensure all staff are properly trained and compliant with company procedures
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong background in warehouse operations and logistics management
- Experience managing medium\-to\-large operational teams
- Excellent knowledge of inbound logistics and container operations
- Strong understanding of warehouse Health \& Safety standards and compliance
- Experience managing customer service operations and complaint resolution
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work in a fast\-paced operational environment
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office
- Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field
- Health \& Safety certification is an advantage
- Experience in FMCG, distribution, retail, or logistics operations preferred
- Salary package £44000\-£50000
