General Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our business in the heart of the Rhondda valleys. The business consists of a 11 bed hotel, bar and 60 seat restaurant plus large outside garden area. The role will involve managing a team of full and part time staff encompassing front of house, kitchen and house keeping.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, exceptional organisational skills, and a proven track record of management within hospitality . This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of our business, motivate the team , and ensure the delivery of excellent customer service. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing staff, driving sales, and maintaining levels to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise staff to achieve and maintain high standards of performance.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase sales
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing schedules, stock management, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health \& safety and licensing regulations
- Build strong relationships with clients and suppliers to support business growth.
- Conduct staff training sessions to improve service
- Handle customer enquiries professionally via phone or in person, maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
- Proven management experience within hospitality of at least 1 year
- Demonstrate experience in team management,
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Personal licence
- Prior experience in cellar management desired
- Knowledge of booking systems
