Operations & Finance Assistant
Job Summary
We’re looking for a proactive, organised and practical Operations \& Finance Assistant to join our busy GP practice team.
This is a varied role supporting the smooth day\-to\-day running of the practice, with responsibilities across finance, procurement, administration, systems and wider operations. You’ll need to be confident with numbers and systems, comfortable working with people, and someone who naturally spots what needs doing and gets things moving.

Duties
- Support financial monitoring and reporting, including updating Income \& Expenditure and P\&L information.
- Coordinate clinical and non\-clinical purchasing and procurement, ensuring value for money and appropriate authorisation.
- Assist with the purchase ledger, including invoices, supporting documentation and payment preparation.
- Prepare and monitor practice claims and income, following up payments and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate clinical stock checks, monitoring stock levels, expiry dates and replenishment.
- Provide day\-to\-day operational support across practice sites, including facilities, suppliers, systems and administration.
- Identify and support process improvements to improve efficiency, consistency and value for money.
- Support the maintenance and review of the Practice Business Continuity Plan.
- Assist with CQC requirements and quality improvement work, including maintaining evidence and tracking actions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and well\-organised financial, operational and procurement records.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non\-clinical teams, responding flexibly to changing practice priorities.
- Provide additional support to the Head of Operations \& Finance and wider management team as required.
- Strong numerical and financial skills, with confidence working with figures, spreadsheets and financial information.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines accurately.
- Proactive and self\-motivated, able to identify what needs doing and use initiative within agreed responsibilities.
- Confident IT and systems skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and relationship\-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical and non\-clinical teams.
- Practical, solutions\-focused approach, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support wider practice needs.

Pay: £24,865\.00\-£28,000\.00 per year
