Job Summary

This is a genuine seat at STEP CONNECT2's leadership table. As Operations \& Delivery Director, you'll lead the operational planning, coordination and delivery of every event we run, working closely with two Event Executives who are early in their careers and full of potential. You'll also play an active part in budgeting and financial decision\-making across our events, working closely with our CEO, and contribute directly to how we plan and grow as a business.

This role exists because our business is growing, and because we want someone who can bring real operational leadership to how we deliver, not just keep the wheels turning. It's a role that will grow too: as you prove yourself, there's genuine scope to take on more ownership and responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

• Lead end\-to\-end delivery planning and execution for every STEP CONNECT2 event, including our flagship, Education Estates®.


• Line manage and develop two Event Executives, building their confidence and capability as they grow in their careers.


• Play an active role in budgeting, financial updates and cost decisions across all events, working closely with our CEO.


• Act as the first point of escalation for delivery and operational issues, resolving the majority yourself.


• Sit on our leadership team, bringing an operational perspective to decisions about growth, resourcing and where we go next.


• Maintain and improve the systems, processes and standards that keep our delivery consistent as we grow into new regions, including Europe from 2028\.

• A strong track record of end\-to\-end event planning, logistics and live delivery, ideally across multiple concurrent events.


• Real experience managing and developing people, with a genuine gift for bringing out the best in a team, particularly people earlier in their careers.


• Comfortable with budgets and financial decision\-making, even where final sign\-off sits elsewhere for now.


• Confidence operating at leadership team level, contributing to strategic conversations, not just delivering against a brief.


• Calm, organised and decisive under pressure, and just as comfortable building trust with peers as coaching a junior team member.


• Genuine enthusiasm for helping a growing business scale well, including an openness to taking on more responsibility over time
