This is a site\-based, hands\-on supervisory position for somebody who understands how construction work is actually delivered, can organise people and resources, and is comfortable taking ownership when problems arise.

Permanent Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 per annum

Dependent on experience and proven capability

CIS / self\-employed arrangements may also be considered for suitable candidates.

Rates will be from £225 \- £275\.

Base: Doncaster / Yorkshire
Working Pattern: Site based with regular UK travel

Why Join Eco\-Power Solutions?

Eco\-Power Solutions is a growing construction, civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering projects across the UK.

Our work includes general construction, groundworks, drainage, concrete works, reinstatement, fencing, public realm works, building repairs, infrastructure improvements, industrial projects, local authority works and specialist utility projects.

We work with councils, commercial and industrial organisations, infrastructure providers, principal contractors and major utility companies.

We operate in a fast\-paced environment where expectations are high. In return, you’ll be given genuine responsibility, the opportunity to influence how projects are delivered and the chance to progress as the business continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

As an Operations / Construction Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for coordinating and supervising construction activities across multiple projects and workstreams.

You will:

  • Supervise day\-to\-day construction and civil engineering activities on site

  • Coordinate directly employed operatives, subcontractors, plant, materials and site logistics

  • Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with drawings, specifications, RAMS and client requirements

  • Plan short\-term activities and ensure labour, plant and materials are available when required

  • Drive productivity and ensure resources are being used effectively

  • Monitor workmanship and challenge poor standards, unsafe behaviours and underperformance

  • Identify construction issues early and develop practical solutions

  • Monitor progress against programme and provide clear updates to Project Managers and clients

  • Lead pre\-start briefings, toolbox talks and site discussions

  • Manage subcontractor performance and hold teams accountable for delivery

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, delays, variations and additional works

  • Support inspections, snagging, completion and project handover
The role requires somebody who is visible and engaged on site. We’re not looking for somebody who supervises from a distance or concentrates solely on paperwork.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to have personally carried out every construction trade, but you do need enough practical experience to understand how the work should be built, what good workmanship looks like and what resources are realistically required.

Experience across some of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Groundworks and excavation

  • Concrete slabs, foundations and pads

  • Drainage and underground services

  • Ducting and service installation

  • Kerbing, paving and hard landscaping

  • Asphalt and reinstatement

  • Fencing and security installations

  • Building repairs and refurbishment

  • Demolition and breakout

  • Site enabling works

  • Access roads and compounds

  • Temporary works

  • Service avoidance

  • Plant\-supported construction

  • Industrial and infrastructure works

  • Utility infrastructure

  • Public realm and local authority works

  • Minor structural works
What We Expect

This isn’t a role for somebody who wants to simply turn up, supervise from the sidelines and go home.

We expect our Supervisors to:

  • Be visible, engaged and present with the workforce

  • Take ownership of the activities under their control

  • Plan ahead rather than constantly react to problems

  • Be confident managing people and challenging poor performance

  • Understand productivity and the commercial impact of poor planning, idle labour, idle plant and rework

  • Identify problems and bring practical solutions

  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping

  • Communicate professionally with clients and the wider project team

  • Remain flexible when project priorities or site conditions change

  • Take pride in representing Eco\-Power Solutions
The successful candidate will be given a high level of responsibility and trust, and we expect the same level of commitment and ownership in return.

Essential Requirements

You should have:

  • Strong practical experience within general construction and/or civil engineering

  • Previous experience supervising construction operatives and/or subcontractors

  • A good understanding of construction safety, site risk and safe systems of work

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions

  • Ability to recognise poor workmanship and determine corrective action

  • Strong planning, organisation and problem\-solving skills

  • Confidence managing teams and challenging unacceptable standards

  • Ability to work independently without constant direction

  • Full UK driving licence

  • CSCS card or appropriate equivalent

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to travel
Desirable Qualifications \& Experience

Qualifications such as the following would be advantageous:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS

  • Temporary Works Supervisor

  • First Aid at Work

  • CAT \& Genny / Service Avoidance

  • NRSWA

  • CPCS or NPORS

  • EUSR SHEA Gas, Water or Power
Previous experience working on local authority, commercial, industrial, utility or wider infrastructure projects would also be beneficial.

We’re more interested in proven capability, attitude and construction knowledge than simply collecting qualification cards.

Salary \& BenefitsPermanent Employment – £45,000 to £52,000 per annum

Dependent on experience and proven capability.

The permanent package includes:

  • £45,000 – £52,000 salary

  • 20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

  • Workplace pension

  • Laptop/tablet where required

  • Overnight accommodation paid where required

  • Company\-funded training and competency development

  • Vehicle arrangements discussed depending on role requirements

  • Genuine opportunities for progression as Eco\-Power Solutions continues to grow
Regular travel across Yorkshire, the Midlands and other UK locations will be required, including reasonable travel outside normal site hours and occasional overnight stays. Accommodation will be provided where required. The vehicle arrangement is there to support project delivery rather than being offered as a company\-car perk.

There is a genuine opportunity for the right person to progress into positions such as Senior Construction Supervisor, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, Contracts Manager or Project Manager as the business develops.
