The Operations Assistant Manager will support the Operations Manager in the planning, coordination and successful delivery of all events across The Steel Yard, including both corporate and club events. The role is responsible for ensuring operational requirements are met, events are delivered efficiently and safely, and the venue consistently maintains the highest standards of service and presentation.
Working closely with internal teams, promoters, suppliers and clients, the Operations Assistant Manager will play a key role in ensuring every event is delivered seamlessly from planning through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager in the day\-to\-day operation of the venue and the successful delivery of all events.
- Assist with the planning, coordination and operational delivery of corporate, private and club events.
- Ensure all event operational requirements are identified, planned and completed in advance of each event.
- Coordinate stock ordering and inventory levels to ensure products and supplies are available when required.
- Programme and configure the Square EPOS system and tills to meet the requirements of each event.
- Ensure PDQ machines are operational, cash floats are prepared where required, and all payment systems are functioning correctly.
- Liaise with promoters, clients, suppliers and contractors to ensure all operational requirements are understood and delivered.
- Ensure all venue areas are clean, fully operational and event\-ready before guests arrive.
- Assist with staff scheduling, rota planning and workforce coordination.
- Monitor operational performance throughout events and proactively resolve issues.
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager to support venue maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, licensing requirements, company policies and procedures.
- Support operational improvements to enhance efficiency and guest experience.
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders when required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
- Management of casual staff
- Previous experience in event operations, venue operations or hospitality management.
- Experience planning and delivering live events.
- Experience coordinating staff rotas and workforce planning.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent organisational and problem\-solving skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and EPOS systems such as Square.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and on\-call support.
- Professional, reliable and committed to high standards.
- Experience within live music, nightlife or large\-scale event venues.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and technical event requirements.
- Personal Licence Holder
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience using rota management systems.
Expected hours: No less than 35\.0 per week
