Offsite Plant Room Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Produce high\-quality CAD drawings and 3D models for packaged offsite\-manufactured mechanical and electrical plant rooms.


• Create and maintain SolidWorks models, standard parts libraries and product drawings.


• Prepare customer approval drawings, production drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs) and as\-built documentation.


• Produce General Arrangement (GA) and P\&ID drawings to support projects from quotation through to manufacture.


• Review structural drawings and calculations to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and installation.


• Manage engineering change requests and maintain accurate design documentation.


• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure project requirements are met.


• Support and deliver engineering projects from concept through to completion.


• Prepare technical documentation including datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings and O\&M manuals.


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, product development and design process enhancements.

• Proven experience designing mechanical and electrical plant rooms, particularly pipework systems such as process, LTHW, CHW, HWS, BCWS and boiler systems.


• Strong SolidWorks CAD experience is essential.


• Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings.


• Understanding of sheet metal design and general metal fabrication principles.


• Knowledge of structural steelwork and electrical systems would be advantageous.


• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is desirable.


• Knowledge of AutoCAD for schematic and P\&ID drawings is advantageous.


• Experience with Revit modelling would be beneficial.


• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high\-quality engineering documentation.


• Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.


• Self\-motivated, proactive and keen to learn new technologies and processes.
