This specialist service supports individuals with complex personality disorders, many of whom have histories of violent or sexual offending, as well as experiences of abuse.
As an Occupational Therapist in this team, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalised, recovery\-focused care. Using your expertise, you’ll assess and support clients’ health and well\-being from an occupational perspective, collaborating closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to facilitate meaningful progress towards their goals. What you can add:
- Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, applying evidence\-based, client\-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of OT and MDT services, including responsibility for specific projects.
- Conduct holistic OT assessments and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to complete specialist risk assessments supporting recovery.
- Provide leadership to junior staff and students through regular supervision and appraisals.
- Set occupationally focused goals that address the mental, physical, spiritual, psychological, and social needs of service users, ensuring sensitivity to age, culture, race, gender, ethnicity, social class, sexuality, and disability.
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with an active HCPC Registration (no restrictions to practice).
- Substantial post\-registration experience working in mental health services and/or acute inpatient settings.
- Clinical experience in Forensic Mental Health setting.
- Strong knowledge of evidence\-based interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs.
