Role Outline

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Occupational Health Advisor/Team Lead to join our team in Rosyth, offering a hybrid work arrangement. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and strategic input to deliver a high\-quality, proactive Occupational Health service. You will provide professional advice to employees, manage and support a multidisciplinary team, and assist in advancing clinical practice in line with Department of Health guidelines and legislation.

In this pivotal role, you’ll split your time between remote case management (2 days per week) and leading the Occupational Health team onsite (3 days per week), ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional care to our client’s workforce.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Assessing clients’ fitness to work and managing referrals, both in person and remotely

  • Providing professional leadership to Occupational Health Technicians, nurses, and the wider Occupational Health team, including clinical auditing and quality assurance.

  • Supporting and mentoring the team, ensuring appropriate training and professional development opportunities are in place.

  • Leading the delivery of health surveillance programmes and ensuring compliance with current legislation.

  • Conducting drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments, and consultations as required.

  • Writing reports and letters to GPs and specialists, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Access to Medical Reports Act and Data Protection Act.

  • Developing and implementing health promotion initiatives in collaboration with the broader Occupational Health team.

  • Maintaining up\-to\-date records and ensuring compliance with departmental protocols.

  • Collaborating with client managers and external professionals to build effective working relationships and maintain high standards of service delivery.

  • Managing resources, equipment, and staffing requirements in partnership with the Clinical Operations Manager.

  • Promoting equality, dignity, and respect within the workplace while maintaining strict confidentiality.

What We're Looking For:

To excel in this role, you’ll need to be a motivated and proactive individual with a strong background in Occupational Health.

  • Current NMC registration (Part 1\).

  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health.

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge in Occupational Health practice.

  • Managerial experience with the ability to motivate and support teams.

  • Experience conducting health screenings, medicals, and drug and alcohol testing.

  • In\-depth understanding of professional accountability and clinical governance.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and empower teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads, work autonomously, and meet strict deadlines.

  • IT literate, with the ability to manage records and systems effectively.

  • Innovative, adaptable, and self\-motivated with a proactive approach to work.

  • Approachable and skilled in building relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
