This is an exciting opportunity to work within NHS Fife Occupational Health, delivering services to a wide range of staff groups and partner organisations. The post covers the full breadth of occupational health practice, including case management (on average 4\-5 per day depending on complexity and triage), health surveillance, immunisation activity, health promotion, audit and support for junior colleagues.

We are looking for a registered nurse with a specialist occupational health qualification and substantial relevant experience. Entry on part 3 of the NMC register is desirable, but not essential.

What we'll need you to bring

Qualifications

Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK), with a specialist occupational health qualification (diploma or degree)

High level of specialist occupational health knowledge, including relevant policy, procedure, legislation and professional standards

Experience

Substantial relevant occupational health experience supported by strong theoretical knowledge

Evidence of ongoing learning and continuing professional development

Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to occupational health practice

Understanding of quality assurance processes, including audit

Knowledge of, or training in, spirometry, audiometry and vision screening

Essential skills and requirements for the role

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Ability to manage your own workload and support the planning and delivery of team activity

A collaborative, team\-focused approach

Good IT skills

Training and presentation skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing demands

Ability to travel between sites as required

It would be great if you also have

Qualifications

Management or leadership training and/or experience

IOSH or NEBOSH qualification

Experience

Experience of providing specialist occupational health advice to managers, HR and the wider organisation

Experience of delivering services to customers or clients

Experience of supporting or supervising junior team members

Experience in case management

Experience of organising and contributing to case conferences

Knowledge of, or training in, specialist diagnostic equipment and interpretation of results

Skills and Abilities

Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment

Experience of producing reports and using data systems to support service delivery

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based at Willow Drive, Whytemans Brae, Kirkcaldy, with travel across Fife and occasionally beyond as required.

Flexible and hybrid working options will be considered.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full\-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro\-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
