Occupational Health and Wellbeing Manager
About the role
Balfour Beatty is seeking an Occupational Health and Wellbeing Manager to join our Power Transmission \& Distribution team in Scotland. This is a permanent, full\-time position based from our Maxim Park office, Eurocentral.
Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, you will support the implementation and delivery of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy and associated objectives across the Scotland region. Working closely with the Health, Safety and Wellbeing and Operational Leadership teams, you will provide expert guidance and leadership across occupational health, occupational hygiene and wellbeing, helping to create a safe, healthy and supportive working environment for our people.
What you'll be doing
- To ensure occupational health compliance across the region, supporting projects to meet statutory requirements.
- Be involved at the planning stage to support design teams to identify and control health risks and to ensure occupational health and wellbeing are included at project start up.
- To provide expert and informed occupational health advice across the business. Supporting case management where appropriate and required.
- To provide performance reporting to the senior leadership team within the Scotland region on Occupational Health, Hygiene and Wellbeing matters.
- To ensure compliance with the Balfour Beatty HS\&W integrated Business Management System (BMS), Legislation,and Client standards related to Occupational Health, Hygiene and Wellbeing.
- Ensure that all significant organisational risks to health are consistently and appropriately identified, communicated and effectively managed across the region.
- To ensure the supplychain understand the occupational health, hygiene and wellbeing requirements of the Scotland Region, collobarating with and assuring supply chain occupational health compliance.
- To organise and deliver health and wellbeing promotion activities across the region.
- To produce health\-related campaigns, communications and engagement material.
- To provide guidance, support, advice to colleagues and managers in relation to all Health and Wellbeing matters.
- Contribute to the implementation and delivery of the Zero Harm Action Plan.
- Undertake planned \& unplanned inspections, audits, joint tours and reviews of projects.
- Develop professional relationships with customers and specifically their HS\&W professionals.
- Willingness to travel to and proactively engage with Health and Safety, and operational teams working across projects across Scotland.
- Occuapational Health and Wellbeing qualification at Level 5 or suitable relevant experience.
- Experience and/or qualifications in Occupational Health \& Safety, Risk Management or Occupational Hygiene preferred.
- Experience in matrix or JV/project environments; construction or safety critical work environments preferred.
- Data and digitally driven with demonstratable experience.
- Knowledge of mental health programme development \& experience.
- Results Driven: Demonstrates a passion and excitement for his/her work. Tackles problems head\-on and works to resolve them without delay.
- Teamwork \& Collaboration: Puts aside personal agendas to work for the benefit of customers and suppliers and other stakeholders. Proactively builds knowledge through sharing knowledge, ideas and expertise with others.
