Qualifications (will consider only UK Qualification or UK Converted)
- Relevant UK Early Years Teaching Qualification Level 3
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics including functional skills.
- (If Level 3 qualification in English and Mathematics if achieved after September 2014\)
- Early Years Degree or equivalent
- Early Years Teacher Status Level 6 or equivalent
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent (QTS)Key Responsibilities include
- Team Supervision: Assisting in leading and supporting staff to deliver high\-quality early education and care, providing guidance, and managing schedules.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring the nursery meets Ofsted standards and adheres to health, safety, and safeguarding protocols to provide a secure environment for children.
- Curriculum Implementation: Supporting the planning and delivery of an engaging curriculum that meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and promotes each child’s learning and development.
- Parent Communication: Building positive relationships with parents, updating them on their child’s progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with the nursery’s services.
- Administrative Duties: Assisting with daily administration, including maintaining records, overseeing financial aspects, and helping manage resources and budgets.
- Deputising for Manager: Stepping into the Nursery Manager’s role when they are absent, ensuring smooth operation and consistent quality.
- Opening and/or Closing of Nursery Setting
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior practitioner role, ideally within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Proven ability to lead a team, support professional development, and foster a positive work environment.
- Hands\-on experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and a demonstrated ability to implement a quality curriculum.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards for nursery settings, including how to prepare for inspections.
- In\-depth knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to ensure adherence to child protection protocols.
- Experience with administrative tasks, including record\-keeping, maintaining attendance and medical records, and ensuring all documentation is compliant with legal requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with families, address concerns professionally, and foster a collaborative nursery community.

- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
