Northampton Town Centre Ltd manages the Northampton Town Centre Business Improvement District. Engaging with businesses, the public and partners to help support business growth and investment in the town centre and build pride, loyalty and positive perceptions of Northampton as a whole. Its focus is to provide a vibrant, safe and positive experience for visitors, workers and residents in Northampton BID.
The Role
We are seeking a BID Host (Community Engagement \& Business Outreach Officer) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and people\-focused individual to play a key role in supporting the town centre, engaging with businesses, and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Salary £27,000 per annum.
This is a full\-time post 37\.5 hours a week, working 5 days across a 7\-day week.
Working as part of the project delivery team, the role is a uniformed role, working outdoors in all weathers. Its focus is to provide a vibrant, safe and positive experience for visitors and workers in Luton
Main duties are to provide a welcoming and uniformed presence in Northampton Town Centre to
· Support and work closely with all those who have a responsibility for the creation of a safe, attractive and welcoming
· Provide support for the implementation of events and animation in the streets and open spaces.
· Support businesses in tackling and communicating issues which affect their business on a day\-to\-day basis.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL NEED TO BE/HAVE
· Friendly, outgoing, flexible and adaptable
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of people.
· A team worker, able to work on their initiative, self\-motivated and the ability to plan workload is essential
· Ability to maintain accurate records on all aspect of work
· Higher level certificate, including Maths and English,
· A good command of the English language
· IT literate
· Common sense and a can\-do attitude
DESIRABLE SKILLS
· SIA Accreditation an advantage although training will be given.
· Knowledge of social media.
The post will be based primarily out of doors in all weather.
The candidate will also benefit from workplace pension after completion of their probation period.
