Night Shift Care Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Shift Care Assistant to provide high\-quality support to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of residents during overnight hours. Duties

• Assist residents with personal care routines, including washing, dressing, and mobility support during night hours


• Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing throughout the shift, reporting any concerns to senior staff


• Maintain accurate records in accordance with care plans and organizational policies


• Respond promptly and compassionately to residents’ needs.


• Ensure the safety of residents by conducting regular checks of their environment


• Assist with light domestic tasks such as tidying communal areas and ensuring a clean, comfortable environment


• Collaborate with team members to deliver personalised care tailored to individual needs


• Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through respectful communication and companionship

• Experience working within a care home or home care setting is advantageous


• Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans accurately


• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with residents and team members


• Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating records electronically


• Excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with residents, their families, and colleagues


• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals during night hours


• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations
