Night Porter — Boutique Hotel | The Véro Townhouse Killarney

The Véro Townhouse is a boutique hotel in the heart of Killarney, County Kerry. We have 30 beautifully designed rooms, a wine bar, and a team who take genuine pride in how guests are looked after. While most of our guests are asleep, our Night Porter makes sure everything runs smoothly — and that anyone who needs help at night gets it.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a reliable, calm, and switched\-on Night Porter to join our team on a full\-time, seasonal basis. This is a solo overnight role — you'll be the only member of staff on site, which means you need to be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of the building, and making sensible decisions when things don't go to plan.

It's a quieter role by nature, but it carries real responsibility. The safety, security, and comfort of our guests overnight is in your hands.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Welcoming late arrivals and managing after\-hours check\-ins in a warm, professional manner


• Carrying out regular security checks of the building throughout the night


• Monitoring access to the hotel and ensuring the safety of guests and the property


• Responding to guest requests and queries overnight — from extra towels to local information


• Handling any issues or emergencies calmly and in line with hotel procedures


• Preparing the hotel for the morning — laying breakfast areas, restocking supplies, and completing handover notes for the day team


• Keeping communal areas clean, tidy, and presentable overnight


• Logging any incidents, maintenance issues, or guest feedback for the morning manager

• A reliable, trustworthy individual who is comfortable working alone through the night


• Previous experience in a hotel, security, or overnight hospitality role is an advantage — but not essential if you have the right attitude


• A calm, professional manner — particularly when dealing with unexpected situations or guest issues at unsociable hours


• Good communication skills and a genuine care for guests


• Physical ability to carry out light manual tasks, security rounds, and general upkeep throughout the shift


• Fluent English; additional languages are always a bonus in Killarney


• Eligible to work in Ireland — no visa sponsorship available

• A full\-time seasonal position at one of Killarney's best\-regarded independent hotels
