Night Care Worker
A Night Care Assistant at Minster Grange Care Home is responsible for ensuring residents are safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the night. Duties typically include helping residents settle for bed and supporting with personal care such as washing, dressing, continence, mobility, and hydration. They carry out regular checks in line with individual care plans, respond promptly to call bells or emergencies, and escalate concerns where necessary. Night Care Assistants also complete light domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning communal areas, and preparing for breakfast, while ensuring the home remains secure by checking fire doors and external access points. Accurate record\-keeping and clear handovers are essential, as is providing emotional reassurance and companionship to residents who may feel anxious or unsettled. Above all, the role requires maintaining residents’ dignity, safety, and well\-being, while working in line with care home policies and completing ongoing training to uphold high standards of care.
