Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Engineer
Overview
Due to continuous site expansion, Aquaforce Recycling is seeking a proactive Multi\-Skilled Maintenance Professional to join our team at our electrical and hazardous waste processing facility. Working closely alongside the Maintenance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal plant operation, executing preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime, and championing a safe working environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Multi\-Skilled Maintenance Technician / Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within our hazardous waste processing environment. Your expertise will ensure continuous operation, safety compliance, and optimal performance of plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
1\. System Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (PPM) across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic plant systems.
2\. Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery promptly, including conveyors, industrial shredding equipment, and a small fleet of diesel forklifts.
3\. CMMS Optimization: Utilize and develop our Elecosoft / ShireSystem CMMS to log jobs, track asset attributes, manage spare parts inventory, and schedule PPMs.
4\. Fabrication \& Modification: Conduct welding repairs and structural modifications as required to maintain plant integrity.
5\. Operational Alignment: Coordinate work schedules with the production team to minimize operational downtime.
6\. Compliance \& Safety: Maintain detailed records of safety inspections and audits, ensuring strict compliance with environmental and health \& safety regulations.
7\. Contractor Liaison: Coordinate with external maintenance contractors and suppliers to secure the best value for parts and specialist services.
8\. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation accurately
The ideal candidate
1\. Technical Skills: Multi\-skilled engineering background (mechanically biased with strong electrical diagnosis and repair capabilities).
2\. Qualifications: Qualified to Level 3 or 4 standard (NVQ Level 3, completed Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent vocational qualification).
3\. Software Experience: Prior experience using ShireSystem (Elecosoft) or a similar CMMS platform is highly advantageous.
4\. Industry Experience: Experience within a waste management, recycling, or heavy industrial environment is preferred but not essential.
5\. Attributes: Physically fit, safety\-conscious, and capable of working autonomously.
Hours of Work \& Logistics
1\. Shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 15:00 (Shift patterns may vary based on operational needs, but do not include night shifts).
2\. Overtime: Essential out\-of\-hours cover and emergency call\-outs are required and are paid extra on a pro\-rata basis. Total hours average under 48 hours per week.
3\. Commute: Must have reliable transport to ensure a prompt 06:00 start at our WV10 7DB site (On\-site parking provided).
Pay: £33,000\.00\-£43,000\.00 per year
