Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer With Electrical Bias

Shift Rota – 3 on 3 off Days

Purpose of Job

This role operates within the maintenance/engineering department, working with a small team of engineers to assist in the efficient and smooth running of the business. The role will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, and you will provide a hands on engineering service to the production operation by ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with the PPM plan to ensure that planned production is achieved with minimal down time.

The Person

We are looking for a motivated and creative individual with a positive attitude who can work under pressure when things are not quite going to plan. There will be an expectation that you will adhere to the company’s health and safety procedures and that all work undertaken is done so in a safe manner and to the highest standard.

You should be experienced in a similar role and able to provide electrical and mechanical re\-active, and planned preventative maintenance support in a well\-established production environment. You will be required to follow a detailed planned maintenance schedule. There will be a requirement for fabrication work including Mig welding along with machine installation, servicing and general maintenance. Experience with PLC controlled equipment is required as well as working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and steam boilers in a high speed environment.

Preferred skills and/or qualifications:

• Ideally time served and electrically biased multi skilled engineer, educated to HNC or City and Guilds standard, however candidates with a sound, in depth knowledge will also be considered.


• Computer literate, particularly with regard to Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Problem solving ability

The Company is the leading independent animal food producer in the country, and this role is at its site in Wrexham. The salary on offer is in the region of £40,000 \- £48,000 dependant on experience working a 3 on 3 off days shift system, ( 1st 2 days on call for the night also )
