We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Care \& Learning Mentor to join our team. This rewarding role combines therapeutic residential care with educational support, helping young people thrive both at home and in learning environments.

As a Care \& Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and positive living environment where young people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

About the Role

Working as part of a committed and supportive team, you will provide high\-quality care and mentoring to children and young people, supporting their personal development, educational progress, and preparation for independent living.

You will help create positive experiences and opportunities that enable young people to build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic care and support in line with individual placement plans.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.

  • Support young people with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, budgeting, and community engagement.

  • Encourage independence and preparation for adulthood.

  • Support learning and educational development within our onsite school and external educational settings.

  • Reinforce learning goals and personal development plans within the residential environment.

  • Organise engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of individual young people.

  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring every young person feels respected and valued.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, schools, and external professionals.

  • Contribute to the smooth running of the home, including maintaining records, inventories, and household routines.

  • Drive company vehicles when required.

  • Undertake key worker responsibilities and contribute to specific projects across the organisation.

  • Provide emergency shift cover across services when required.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children and young people, ideally within residential care, education, or a related setting.

  • Is caring, patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships.

  • Can support young people with emotional, social, and educational development.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Can work flexibly as part of a team.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Respects diversity and supports young people in developing their identity and individuality.

  • Is willing to undertake relevant training and qualifications as part of their professional development \- Diploma Level 3 in Health \& Social Care (CYP)

  • Holds a full UK driving licence Essential
