We are seeking a Mobile Multi\-Skilled Engineer with a Mechanical Bias to deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM), proactive maintenance, and reactive repairs across a range of building services disciplines.
The successful candidate will ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes while providing a professional service that exceeds customer expectations.
Job Description
We are looking for an engineer with experience in building services maintenance, including mechanical, HVAC and fabric systems, who can support contractual requirements, maintain compliance with health and safety standards, and build positive client relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out gas, mechanical, fabric, proactive and reactive maintenance activities assigned through the helpdesk.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure all work is completed within agreed service levels.
- Perform building services maintenance tasks across fabric, HVAC, mechanical and related systems.
- Participate in the callout rota and provide emergency response support as required.
- Manage contractor control duties, including monitoring contractor performance and issuing Permits to Work.
- Ensure equipment operates to specified performance criteria and that work areas comply with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all administration requirements within required timescales.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH requirements, while identifying opportunities for service improvements and innovation.
Skills \& Qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, or City \& Guilds in Mechanical Engineering 1788 (previous editions will also be considered), or relevant time\-served experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience providing building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, installation, and inspection/testing.
- Previous experience delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Experience working within facilities management (FM) or building services in commercial properties.
- Proactive approach to client liaison and customer service.
- Ability to evaluate equipment performance and maintenance requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to administrative accuracy.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and workmanship.
