Milk Delivery Person

Part\-Time Milk Delivery Person:

We are a friendly, family\-run business looking for a reliable and personable Milk Delivery Driver to join our team on a very part\-time basis.

This role would suit someone semi\-retired, looking for a few extra hours, or somebody wanting to supplement their current income with flexible part\-time work.

Working Pattern

• 1 week working out of every 4 weeks \- includes early mornings (see below)


• Monday and Thursday evenings (into early hours of Tuesday and Friday morning)


• Relief cover for holidays as extra


• Part\-time hours

The Role

You will be delivering milk and other products to homes and customers within the local community of Escrick and other surrounding villages. As one of the friendly faces of our business, excellent customer service is very important to us.

This role offers fantastic flexibility, allowing the successful candidate to load the vehicle and begin deliveries at a time that works best for them, taking weather conditions into consideration as milk cannot be left out too early in the evening if it is too hot. However, strong time management and organisational skills are essential to ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently and customers receive their orders on their doorstep before leaving for work.

Duties will include:

• Loading and unloading the delivery vehicle


• Cleaning down the fridge and vehicle if there are any spills


• Ensuring products are


• Completing deliveries accurately and on time


• Providing a polite and helpful service to customers


• Keeping delivery rounds organised and running smoothly


• Keeping track of surplus stock


• Communicating effectively with the manager on stock


• Delivering invoices once monthly


• Taking payments and logging them efficiently/accurately


• Some computer work including ordering and making adjustments to customers deliveries if the business manager is on holiday (otherwise the manager will take care of this)


• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving and maintain a clean driving record

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for somebody who is:

• Friendly, polite, and trustworthy


• Reliable and punctual


• Good time management skills


• Basic organisational skills for managing delivery schedules and paperwork


• Comfortable working independently


• Happy to help elderly customers if required


• Physically able to carry out bending and lifting as part of the role


• Holds a full, clean UK driving licence


• Somebody local to Hambleton, Selby

Experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right person.
