We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be required to manage a caseload of patients.
Hours
37\.5 hours a week
5 shifts across a 7 day period including bank holidays.
Working hours Mon\-Fri 08:00\-16:00 or 08:00\-18:00, Sat/Sun 08:30\-16:30\.
6pm finish and weekends are distributed across the rota.
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,659 per annum \- depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work within a multi\-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
- Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic
- Assess patient’s health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
- You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
- Deliver non\-judgemental care that makes a real difference
- You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi\-disciplinary teams

Qualifications required:
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse \- NMC registration
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
- Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
