Mental Health Hospital Liaison Nurse - Older Adults

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to become part of our evolving Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Fife.

The post holder would be based at OA CMHT\- Central at Whyteman's Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy and currently covers inpatients at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMN, who are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills gained from experience working with older adults in the Mental Health Service. We are seeking a confident Nurse with a positive, pro\-active approach who can inspire and lead within the wider team. You will be resilient, enthusiastic and committed to working with older adults to provide strength based, person centred assessment and treatment.

The successful applicant will be a Non Medical Prescriber and self motivated with a desire to be part of progressive, innovative Older Adult CMHT. You will be committed to partnership working within the MDT and establishing strong working relationships with Acute Care clinicians. It is essential that you have experience of team working, problem solving and risk management. You should also have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills and evidence of continuing personal development.

The post holder will work collaboratively to provide holistic assessment, treatment and care planning for older adults experiencing mental health illness in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Additionally, there is an expectation of training and development sessions working with staff, with bespoke ‘bite\-sized’ sessions, as well as participating in care intervention; displaying skills required with a person displaying distress or stress.

You will receive a comprehensive induction, Caseload / Clinical Supervision and supportive educational/personal development, which includes protected learning time. This post will also provide opportunities to contribute and shape the development of the role within the evolving OA CMHTs.
