Medical Receptionist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team for 22\.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 2\.00pm\-6\.30pm.

The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast\-paced medical environment. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations within the practice and enhancing the patient experience. On the job training will be provided as needed.

Duties

• Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check\-in procedures.


• Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries effectively.


• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.


• Process new patient registrations and update existing patient information as necessary.


• Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient flow and manage any scheduling conflicts.


• Ensure the reception area is organised, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety standards.

Skills

• Strong administrative skills with a keen attention to detail.


• Proficient in office software applications, including word processing and spreadsheet management.


• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.


• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism.


• Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage but not essential.


• A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and understanding in all interactions.
