Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Field based

DCE Commercial Engineers Ltd is a small independent Company, made up of a team of skilled and knowledgeable engineers consisting of Catering Engineers \& Mechanical/LEV Engineers working within the educational sector and commercial catering industry.

We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate would be expected to work independently or in small groups to complete reactive call out repairs and annual compliance testing/servicing to machinery/equipment, within D\&T Departments in Schools and Colleges throughout North West England. Both early career candidates and those with experience will be considered for this role.

Job Description

• Reactive repairs – assess and repair mechanical and electrical failures to equipment


• Carry out routine preventative maintenance and compliance servicing to machinery in D\&T Departments working to BS4163:2021


• Installations of machinery \& equipment

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence – Company van provided (business use only)


• Electrical knowledge


• Clean DBS check required


• Candidates should be able to show evidence of good knowledge and experience using wood and metalwork machinery.


• Able to work individually as well as in a team environment


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Good time management skills


• Willing to complete further training as required


• Enthusiastic and Self\-motivated attitude with high standards of work and attention to detail


• Willing to be occasionally flexible as per business requirements

Desirable Requirements

• Candidates should be able to show evidence of good knowledge and experience using wood and metalwork machinery within an educational setting


• BOHS P601 / P602 qualification \- LEV Testing


• Electrical qualifications – fault finding


• Working knowledge of relevant regulations and guidance although full training will be provided


• Experience completing risk assessments


• Experience/knowledge on sewing machines

Hours of Work

8\.00am – 4\.30pm Monday – Friday

(May be occasionally required to work away – overnight expenses/overtime would be paid) 22 days paid holiday per year \+ bank holidays (we close down over Christmas and New Year)

Salary – Negotiable \- dependant on experience
