Mechanical Engineer Surveyor – Lifting Equipment

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer Surveyor to join a leading engineering inspection organisation, carrying out inspections across a designated geographical area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to move into an Engineer Surveyor position, or an existing Engineer Surveyor looking for their next opportunity.

You’ll be responsible for inspecting a range of lifting equipment including MEWPs, HIABs, cranes, FLTs and other lifting equipment, ensuring equipment meets the required safety and compliance standards under LOLER \& PUWER regulations.

The role is client\-facing and will see you working across a wide variety of environments and industries, building strong relationships with customers while providing a high\-quality technical inspection service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out thorough examinations and inspections of mechanical and lifting equipment

  • Inspecting equipment including MEWPs, HIABs, cranes, FLTs and associated lifting gear

  • Ensuring equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and relevant industry standards

  • Producing accurate inspection reports and documentation

  • Identifying defects and providing appropriate technical guidance

  • Managing your workload across a designated geographical area

  • Developing strong relationships with clients and delivering a high level of service

  • Working across a variety of sectors including manufacturing, logistics, utilities, automotive, public sector, mobile plant, transport and construction

Qualifications \& Skills

To be considered for the Mechanical Engineer Surveyor position, you will require:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 4, HNC, HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification

  • LEEA qualifications are preferred alongside a relevant mechanically biased engineering qualification, but unfortunately cannot be considered on their own

  • Minimum three to five years’ post\-qualification experience working with relevant mechanical or lifting equipment

  • Experience working with equipment such as cranes, MEWPs, HIABs, FLTs or other lifting equipment

  • Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER would be advantageous

  • Strong communication and customer\-facing skills

  • Full UK driving licence
Pay: £42,000\.00\-£51,000\.00 per year
