Mechanical Engineer
Base Location: Keadby Power Station
Salary: £51,600 \- £77,400 depending on experience \+ performance\-related bonus \+ a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
SSE Thermal are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team at Keadby Power Station. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, flexibility, and efficiency of plant operations, while contributing to both short\- and long\-term strategic planning.
As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in asset integrity management, proactive maintenance planning, and project delivery aligned with company and station strategies.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
- Assisting in the strategic management and integrity of mechanical assets across the station.
- Contributing to the implementation of maintenance plans, including resource planning, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
- Managing engineering projects from financial justification through to commissioning, ensuring alignment with SSE and station strategies.
- Maintaining and optimise plant performance with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Providing technical support and maintain accurate engineering records in compliance with legal and company standards.
- A Degree\-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, with previous experience in power station maintenance.
- A strong understanding of SHE standards, NEBOSH certification would be advantageous
- Proficiency in Maximo and other relevant IT tools and financial reporting systems.
- Extensive experience in managing plant overhauls and understanding of power station or process plant operations.
- Demonstrable ability to challenge conventional thinking and implement innovative solutions.
