The Role

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of ONFAB products, leading projects from concept through to manufacture. Working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Production and Operations, you will ensure designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing needs and quality standards.

You will also provide technical support to customers and internal teams, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive best practice in design for manufacture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support product design projects from concept through to manufacture


• Produce high\-quality 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings and manufacturing documentation


• Develop innovative design solutions that meet customer and business requirements


• Support prototype development, testing and design validation activities


• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers


• Deliver technical support to customers, production teams and installation projects


• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction and manufacturing efficiency initiatives


• Conduct site visits, measurements and installation support as required


• Ensure compliance with quality systems, engineering standards and company procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline


• Significant experience within a design, engineering or manufacturing environment


• Strong 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks skills


• Experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation


• Excellent problem\-solving, analytical and communication skills


• The ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across functions


• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) systems


• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems


• Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments
