Job Summary

Do you have excellent personal people management skills? Have you got experience in inventory management systems? Do you excel under pressure? Do you strive for innovation? Is public sector healthcare where your passion lies? To line\-manage a team of 8 Materials management Assistants within theatres at the Leeds General Infirmary. You will assist on managing both Supply X and Oracle requisitioning on behalf of the Theatres and Anaesthetics Clinical Service Unit. Reporting into an Inventory Supply Chain Manager. You would support on appraisal, 1:1s and reviews, absence management and Health \& Safety requirements for your areas. You would support on attendance management and strive to look after the health \& wellbeing of your team, this may include carrying out individual \& team stress risk assessments and occupational health reports where required, or signposting to an appropriate support network. Reporting into the Specialist Inventory Supply Chain Manager. Mon\-Fri between 07\.00am\-3\.30pm, 37\.5 hrs/wk On site at LGI.

What you will bring to the role
-----------------------------------

  • Leadership in inventory/stock/materials management you know how to guide, support and motivate a team. Keeping daily operations running smoothly while maintaining high standards across theatre storerooms.

  • A strong grasp of procurement policies Standing Financial Instructions aren’t just words on a page to you, you understand why they matter and you work confidently within them.

  • Handson stock expertise from receipting deliveries to maintaining optimal stock levels, you’re meticulous, organised and committed to getting supplies where they need to be and when they need to be there.

  • Scanner and systems confidence handheld data capture devices, inventory control systems and supply chain platforms are tools you use with ease, and you’re comfortable supporting others to use them too.

  • Experience with NHS supply routes whether it’s NHS Supply Chain, wholesalers or external suppliers, you understand how to source goods efficiently, costeffectively and in line with Trust standards.

  • A customerfocused mindset you build strong working relationships with clinical teams, respond proactively to urgent needs and act as a reliable point of contact for all things materials management.

  • A talent for organisation planning work schedules, adjusting priorities and keeping operations flowing is second nature to you.

  • A collaborative approach you work closely with the Specialist Inventory Supply Chain Manager and wider team to reduce inventory levels, improve processes and contribute to significant costsaving targets.

  • Solid digital skills you’re confident with Microsoft Office and comfortable managing the administrative side of supply chain systems.

  • A problemsolver’s mindset when issues arise, you don’t just flag them you help find solutions, suggest improvements and support the rollout of new policies and technologies.
