SBK Marketing is a fast\-growing media, marketing and sales agency specialising in the property and construction industry.

We work with contractors, developers, architects and design \& build firms across the UK, helping them grow through content, paid advertising, lead generation and sales.

As the company has grown, so has our internal marketing team.

We’re now looking for another Marketing Assistant to join us, taking the team to three Marketing Assistants in total and forming a dedicated mini marketing department within the business.

This is not a role where you’ll be left completely on your own trying to figure everything out.

You’ll be working alongside other Marketing Assistants, the founders and the wider team, helping manage and deliver marketing across a growing portfolio of clients.

At the same time, we don’t want someone who needs every task broken down step by step.

You need to be proactive, organised, commercially aware and genuinely interested in marketing.

READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING

This is a varied marketing role.

You will not spend every day doing one repetitive task.

One day you might be planning social media content for a construction company.

The next you might be writing captions, preparing a client report, helping organise a shoot, creating graphics, scheduling content or supporting the implementation of a new marketing campaign.

You may then need to jump onto a client email, update a strategy document, organise content from a shoot or help the team get something over the line before a deadline.

That variety is a big part of the role.

We want somebody who enjoys that.

You need to be able to take responsibility for your work, communicate properly and understand that working in an agency means managing multiple clients, deadlines and priorities at the same time.

We don’t want someone who waits for a task list every morning.

We want someone who sees what needs doing and gets it handled.

THE MARKETING TEAM

This role is becoming part of something much bigger than when we originally started hiring Marketing Assistants.

As SBK has grown, we’re building out a dedicated internal marketing department.

You will be one of three Marketing Assistants working alongside each other across our client accounts.

That means you’ll have other people around you doing similar work, sharing responsibilities, helping each other and making sure client delivery remains at a high standard as the company continues to grow.

You’ll also work closely with both founders and members of the wider content, advertising and sales teams.

There is a lot of opportunity here for somebody who wants to grow with the department rather than simply come in, complete tasks and go home.

THE ROLE

Your main responsibility is simple:

Help us deliver brilliant marketing consistently across our client accounts.

That means taking ideas and strategies and actually helping turn them into finished work.

You’ll work across content, social media, client communication, copywriting, reporting, marketing strategy and general marketing operations.

Some responsibilities will become your own.

Others will be shared across the marketing team.

The exact split will naturally develop around the strengths of the three people in the department.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

CONTENT \& SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Help manage content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook

  • Schedule and organise client content

  • Build and maintain content calendars

  • Write social media captions

  • Help develop content ideas

  • Support content planning around client objectives

  • Organise content following shoot days

  • Make sure content is properly handed over, stored and scheduled

  • Support social engagement where required
COPYWRITING

This can include:

  • Social media captions

  • Emails

  • Website copy

  • Advertising copy

  • Video scripts

  • Marketing materials

  • Client communications

  • Campaign messaging
You need to be able to take rough information, understand what we are trying to communicate and turn it into clear, professional copy.

You do not need to be a professional copywriter.

You do need to be confident writing and willing to improve quickly.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

  • Create marketing graphics

  • Produce simple social media designs

  • Adapt existing brand assets

  • Build graphics around client campaigns

  • Support presentations and marketing documents

  • Make sure designs remain consistent with client branding
You do not need to be an advanced graphic designer.

You do need to have a good eye and understand what looks professional.

MARKETING STRATEGY \& IMPLEMENTATION

You’ll help turn strategy into action.

This can include:

  • Supporting client marketing plans

  • Helping implement marketing strategies

  • Researching competitors

  • Researching content ideas and industry topics

  • Identifying opportunities across client accounts

  • Helping develop campaigns

  • Supporting new marketing initiatives

  • Making sure agreed actions actually get completed
You will not be expected to walk in on day one and independently create complete marketing strategies for every client.

You will, however, be expected to learn quickly and gradually develop a strong understanding of why we are doing what we are doing.

CLIENT COMMUNICATION

You’ll have exposure to clients and will gradually take responsibility for elements of client communication.

This can include:

  • Responding to client emails and messages

  • Requesting information or approvals

  • Following up on outstanding actions

  • Updating clients on marketing activity

  • Helping prepare for meetings

  • Taking actions from client conversations

  • Making sure client requests are followed through
We work closely with our clients, so communication matters.

You need to be professional, friendly and confident.

SHOOT PLANNING

Content shoots are a major part of what we do.

You’ll help prepare for them by:

  • Researching content ideas

  • Helping build shoot plans and gameplans

  • Preparing video ideas

  • Supporting script development

  • Making sure the team knows what needs to be captured

  • Organising information from clients before shoots

  • Helping organise content after shoots
You may also occasionally attend shoots depending on the client and what is required.

REPORTING \& DATA

You’ll help us keep visibility over how client marketing is performing.

This can include:

  • Preparing client reports

  • Tracking marketing results

  • Collecting campaign data

  • Updating reporting documents

  • Looking for trends in performance

  • Helping the team understand what is and isn’t working

  • Making sure reporting is completed on time
You don’t need to be a data analyst.

You do need to be comfortable working with numbers and paying attention to detail.

PAID ADVERTISING

Depending on your experience, you may also support the team with Meta advertising.

This could include:

  • Helping prepare ad creative

  • Writing advertising copy

  • Supporting campaign setup

  • Reviewing performance

  • Helping organise new campaigns

  • Working alongside the team responsible for paid advertising
Existing Meta Ads experience is a strong advantage but is not essential if the rest of your marketing skillset is strong.

EMAIL MARKETING

You may also support:

  • Email campaigns

  • Email copywriting

  • Client newsletters

  • Outreach campaigns

  • Lead\-generation activity

  • Email marketing workflows
WEBSITES \& SEO

Depending on the project, you may help with:

  • Website copy

  • Updating website content

  • Basic SEO work

  • Keyword research

  • Structuring pages and content

  • Reviewing websites from a marketing perspective
MARKETING ADMIN \& OPERATIONS

There is also an organisational side to the role.

This can include:

  • Keeping marketing projects organised

  • Managing deadlines

  • Updating internal systems

  • Organising client assets

  • Making sure tasks are completed

  • Keeping folders and files organised

  • Helping improve internal marketing processes

  • Supporting the wider team when priorities change
A good Marketing Assistant needs to be good at marketing.

They also need to be organised enough to actually deliver it.
