We’re looking for a creative, organised and hands on Marketing \& Events Executive to join the Bustler team.
Bustler is an independent food, drink and events business with permanent venues in Derby and Nottingham, alongside our Bustler On The Road events across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
We’re a small team with a big personality, and this isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days doing one tiny part of marketing. You’ll get involved in everything from creating content and working with our kitchens, traders and influencers to designing social and email campaigns, and helping organise events and ideas that get people through our doors.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Director to help plan and execute the wider Bustler marketing strategy, while taking ownership of the day to day marketing across both venues and our summer events.
What you’ll be doing
Social \& Content
- Manage the day to day social media channels for Bustler Derby and Bustler Nottingham
- Plan, create and schedule engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant platforms
- Regularly visit both venues to capture photo and video content
- Film and edit Reels, TikToks and other short form video
- Create graphics, posters, menus, event artwork and other marketing materials using Canva
- Keep on top of trends and bring fresh content ideas to the team
- Help maintain a consistent Bustler tone of voice and visual identity
- Work closely with our independent traders to showcase their businesses, products, launches and stories
- Build relationships with local influencers, creators, foodies and relevant media across Derby, Nottingham and the wider region
- Organise influencer visits, previews, launches and hosted experiences
- Identify creators who genuinely fit the Bustler brand rather than simply chasing follower numbers
- Develop collaborations and partnerships with local businesses, brands and organisations
- Help generate PR opportunities around new traders, events, launches and Bustler news
- Work alongside the Marketing Director to turn our wider marketing strategy into campaigns and activity
- Help plan and execute campaigns across social media, email, website, paid advertising, PR, partnerships and physical marketing
- Create and send regular email campaigns
- Update and manage content across our WordPress websites
- Support seasonal campaigns, launches and major events
- Help develop local partnerships and collaborations
- Monitor campaign performance and use insights to improve future activity
- Look for new ways to reach customers and drive footfall across both venues
A big part of this role is helping us give people a reason to visit Bustler.
You’ll work with the wider team to develop and organise events and activations across Derby and Nottingham, from quizzes, live music and family events to workshops, seasonal events, collaborations and completely new ideas.
You’ll help take events from an idea through to delivery, including promotion, ticketing where required, artwork, communications and helping make sure the event is a success.
You’ll also support the marketing of our Bustler On The Road events throughout Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire during the summer.

- Previous experience in marketing, social media, content or a similar role
- Confidence using Canva
- Experience using WordPress or another CMS
- Strong video creation and editing skills \- ability to use CapCut

- Experience with email marketing platforms
- Strong copywriting skills and attention to detail
- Confidence approaching influencers, creators, partners and local businesses
- Great organisation and the ability to juggle several projects at once

- An understanding that good marketing isn’t just about likes and followers. Ultimately, we want to get people through the doors.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone full of ideas who understands the Bustler brand and wants to help us to continue to grow it.
Why work at Bustler?
We’re an independent business ourselves, and one of the best parts of Bustler is the incredible collection of independent businesses and people we get to work alongside.
One day you might be filming a new street food launch, the next you could be organising an influencer event, creating a campaign for a huge weekend or helping bring a completely new event idea to life.
You’ll have real creative freedom and the opportunity to see your ideas actually happen.
And there are a few other perks too:
- Staff food and drink discounts
- Regular team socials and events
- Plenty of opportunities to try some seriously good food
- Work alongside an amazing collection of independent traders and businesses
- Flexible working around evening and weekend events
- Creative freedom and the chance to bring your own ideas to the table
- Opportunities to attend launches, events, festivals and Bustler On The Road events
- A varied role where no two weeks look quite the same
- Be part of a small, friendly team where your work genuinely makes a difference
- The opportunity to grow with Bustler as we continue developing both venues and future projects
You’ll split your time between Bustler Derby and Bustler Nottingham, with travel to our On The Road events and other locations when required.
Hospitality doesn’t always happen Monday to Friday 9 to 5, so there will occasionally be evening or weekend work for events, launches and content capture. We believe in flexibility and will work this around your normal hours wherever possible.
You’ll work closely with our Marketing Director as part of a small team where you’ll have plenty of freedom to bring your own ideas to the table and actually see them happen.
To apply
Send us your CV along with a little bit about yourself and, most importantly, some examples of content or marketing work you’re proud of.
We’d love to see social accounts you’ve worked on, campaigns you’ve created, videos you’ve made, events you’ve helped bring to life or anything else that shows us what you can do. Don't be afraid to get creative!
