THE ROLE
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and strategically minded Marketing \& Business Development Manager to play a leading role in the continued growth of the firm.
In this role you can be based from any of our offices across Yorkshire.
This hybrid role spans marketing, communications and business development, with a particular focus on supporting business growth, strengthening client and referrer relationships, and enhancing the firm's profile across our property and corporate service areas.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing \& Business Development, you will lead the development and delivery of Marketing \& BD plans, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, identify growth opportunities, and oversee the successful delivery of campaigns, projects and team outputs.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Stakeholder Management
- Lead relationships with directors, service areas and key internal stakeholders, including committees and the management team.
- Be an ambassador for the firm's brand and values.
- Play a key role in the creation and delivery of marketing and business development strategies for your service areas.
- Develop annual marketing plans aligned to business objectives and focused on measurable outcomes.
- Conduct market, client and competitor research to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Oversee the delivery of marketing and business development activity and campaigns.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
- Lead and coordinate initiatives including:
- PR and media relations.
- Events, sponsorships and community engagement.
- Website, digital marketing and social media.
- Advertising campaigns.
- Awards, directories and recognition programmes.
- Measure, evaluate and report on return on investment.
- Support the development and delivery of business development strategies across the property and corporate service areas, helping to drive sustainable growth.
- Identify and develop opportunities with target clients, referrers and strategic partners, building strong external relationships and supporting the conversion of opportunities into instructions.
- Work closely with directors and practice teams to develop commercially focused BD plans and ensure agreed actions are delivered.
- Assist with the development and promotion of existing and new services, including market positioning, client targeting and launch activity.
- Lead on pitches, proposals and credentials, coordinating input from fee earners and helping maximise conversion opportunities.
- Monitor and report on business development activity, pipeline performance and ROI, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, including PR, digital and brand agencies, ensuring high\-quality delivery and value for money.
- Build, manage and monitor marketing and business development budgets.
- Oversee client feedback channels, including Trustpilot, ReviewSolicitors, Google and legal directories.
- Maintain a strong bank of testimonials, case studies and client success stories.
- Use client insight to inform marketing and business development activity.
- Produce monthly management reports and KPI updates.
- Contribute to firm\-wide projects and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by senior leadership.
- Degree in Marketing or CIM Level 6 Diploma.
- At least 5 years' marketing experience within the property, corporate or professional services sector, ideally within a law firm.
- Proven success delivering marketing and business development initiatives, including building relationships, identifying opportunities and contributing to business growth.
- Experience managing, coaching and developing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, project management and prioritisation abilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, commercially minded self\-starter who can work effectively with senior leadership.
- Experience of key account marketing.
- Understanding of legal industry dynamics and professional services marketing.
