About Mac Marine

Mac Marine is a small, owner\-operated marine repair and servicing business based at Carriden Boatyard, Bo'ness. We work across Central Scotland on a wide range of vessels and equipment, with a reputation built on doing the job properly.

We are growing and looking for an experienced marine engineer to join us on a full\-time basis. This is a great opportunity to be part of a small business where your skills will be put to use every day on varied and interesting work.

The Role

You will be working directly alongside the owner on day\-to\-day servicing, repairs, and maintenance across the full range of Mac Marine services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Servicing and repair of outboards, inboards, and outdrives

  • Fault finding and fixing

  • Fibreglass repair and paintwork

  • Trailer inspection and repair

  • Jet ski servicing and repairs

  • Mobile work across Scotland

  • Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for each job

  • Supporting customer communication in a professional and friendly manner

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven hands\-on experience in marine engineering

  • Strong knowledge of outboard and/or inboard engine servicing and repair

  • Competent in fault finding and diagnostics, working independently

  • Comfortable working at a boatyard, in confined spaces, and on the water where required

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Good communication skills and a reliable, professional approach

Desirable:
  • Experience with Volvo Penta, Yamaha, Mercury, or similar engine brands

  • Knowledge of GRP / fibreglass repair

  • Jet ski experience

  • Any relevant health and safety training (COSHH awareness, manual handling, working at height)
