Manufacturing Engineer
LBBC designs and builds precision pressure equipment and specialist machines — dewaxing and leaching autoclaves, submarine doors and hatches — for some of the most demanding names in aerospace and defence, including Rolls\-Royce, Safran, GE, Pratt \& Whitney and BAE Systems. We’re a close\-knit team where engineers see a product through from raw material to factory acceptance test, not a single station on a line.
We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of how we capture and improve our manufacturing processes — and to help lead the production side of our move to a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central). It’s a genuinely broad role with real autonomy: you’ll be the person who turns decades of shop\-floor know\-how into structured, repeatable process, and who makes our builds run leaner and cleaner
What you'll be doing:
- Building the routings, bills of materials, work instructions and build packs that underpin our products and our new ERP
- Working across fabrication, machining and assembly to document processes and design out waste and rework
- Getting onto the shop floor with our fabricators, machinists and fitters to capture how things really get built — and making them better
- Defining pressure test and factory acceptance stages, and feeding accurate build times into planning
- Driving down quality defects through root cause analysis and practical process change.
- A qualified manufacturing, mechanical or production engineer who’s worked in bespoke or low\-volume engineering
- Hands\-on knowledge of at least one of fabrication, machining or assembly — and the adaptability to work credibly across all three
- Experience building manufacturing data (routings, BOMs, work instructions) for an ERP or MRP system
- Someone organised and self\-starting, comfortable reading engineering drawings, who can win the confidence of an experienced shop floor
Apply now if you’re looking for a varied role with genuine ownership in a respected British engineering business, working on equipment that matters.
