Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager in Transport and Distribution to lead our logistics operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end\-to\-end transportation and distribution processes, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple channels. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise transportation and warehouse teams to ensure efficient shipping, receiving, and distribution operations.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance logistics workflows, reduce costs, and increase service levels.
- Oversee the management of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as AS400 to streamline operations.
- Coordinate with third\-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize freight movement, storage solutions, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor profit \& loss statements related to transportation activities; identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including forklift operation standards and warehouse safety protocols.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain by analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing best practices.
- Proven supervising experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management with a track record of leading high\-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of profit \& loss management within logistics operations.
- Hands\-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems like AS400, and shipping \& receiving processes.
- Knowledge of 3PL partnerships, freight forwarding, and distribution network optimization.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation including forklifts; certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Excellent communication skills combined with analytical thinking; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
Pay: £33,900\.00 per year
