Field\-Based Account Manager – Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary £36k basic, £14k OTE uncapped

Since our business was formed in 2021 we have grown organically, typically increasing our revenue by up to 40% annually and as a result we are looking to recruit for our first sales position.
This role will be a field\-based account executive with responsibility to take Ropesafe on the next phase of our growth journey by delivering against our newly created sales strategy and to help drive the growth of the business over the next 10 years.
As a result, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining customer relationships and be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth by closing new business.
This role will suit somebody who has already had some form of desk based / internal sales experience and has already spent 2 years working in a field – based sales role, ideally with knowledge of industrial and construction sites
We are looking for a candidate who will not be reliant on being fed leads, instead we are looking for an individual who is able to take our business value propositions and create a pipeline of new name clients who will benefit from the products and services that we offer.
Our account manager sells based on value and not price, can identify and service new markets with confidence and clarity as well as building and converting business from their own qualified pipeline. As with all sales roles, the ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers by developing an in depth understanding of their business challenges before matching our product and services capability to their needs through effective customer communication.
Our office is based in Sheffield and so candidates should be comfortably able to commute to Sheffield on a daily basis where we expect 2 days each week be spent in the office, making calls, following up on leads, creating pipeline and then 3 days each week will be spent on site with new and existing customers selling new solutions and upselling other elements of our service portfolio to existing clients.
Given that this is our first time hiring an account manager we have retained the services of an external sales consultant to provide support to our leadership team and the successful candidate to ensure that they are fully prepared, supported and coached to be successful in the role.
Key Accountabilities \& Responsibilities:
- Spend 3 days each week undertaking field – based customer meetings with 2 days each week in the office building relationships, generating leads and performing general sales administration
- Create a sales strategy and sales plan capable of delivering on target sales performance, achieve and exceed sales targets by managing a portfolio of accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Build a solid business pipeline that is three times the value of your annual target
- Report performance monthly to the business management team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional customer service
- Work in a collaborative way with external business partners who support the business
- Understand customer needs and develop solutions to suit their requirements
- Respond to all customer enquiries in a professional manner and within the timescale agreed
- Administer all customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Maintain and record accurate and easily accessible information for all allocated customers knowledge \& amp;
- Understands the demands and pains of industrial and construction sites
- Has some understanding of rope access solutions
- Strong telephone manner
- Able to construct quotations and proposals focussed on customer ROI
- Proactively seeks out opportunities

Pay: £36,000\.00\-£46,000\.00 per year
