Manager IT Operations (m/f/d)

For our Großkugel site we are looking for an experienced IT professional to strengthen our IT operations on the ground, coordinate support and infrastructure topics, and work closely with the Head of IT. In this role you are a key interface between IT management, the support team, business units and external service providers. You take day\-to\-day workload off the Head of IT, support budget preparation, license, hardware and infrastructure planning, and roll up your sleeves in 1st\- and 2nd\-level support when needed. This position is a good fit if you want to take on technical responsibility, enjoy coordinating, and still like to stay hands\-on.

Deine Aufgaben

• Operational coordination of IT support, infrastructure and service topics


• Close collaboration with the Head of IT on planning, prioritization and further development of IT operations


• Support with budget preparation, cost overviews, license management as well as hardware and investment planning


• Steering and further development of internal 1st\- and 2nd\-level support


• Hands\-on support work on more complex tickets, escalations or during high workload


• Ensuring stable IT services for our logistics and administration teams


• Administration and further development of Windows and Linux system landscapes


• Maintenance and optimization of network, server and security infrastructure


• Collaboration with external service providers, technology partners and internal stakeholders


• Planning and implementation of operational IT infrastructure and optimization projects


• Improvement of monitoring, documentation, knowledge management and IT processes


• Identifying automation potential in support, operations and administration processes


• Ensuring operational continuity during high workload or team absences

Dein Profil

• Several years of experience in IT operations, IT infrastructure, system administration or IT service management


• Experience coordinating IT topics, support processes or technical service providers


• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux environments


• Solid understanding of networks, servers, IT security, monitoring and IT operations


• Experience working with internal business units, service providers and technical escalations


• Interest in budget, license, hardware and capacity planning


• Hands\-on mentality: you can coordinate but also step in operationally when needed


• Structured, analytical and solution\-oriented way of working


• Strong communication skills and confident presence with internal stakeholders


• Fluent German (mandatory) and good English skills (required)

Nice to have, but not a must:

• Cisco knowledge, e.g. routing, switching, VLANs, VPN or firewalls


• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL or comparable


• Experience with Bash, Python, PowerShell or other automation technologies


• Experience with AI/LLM tools for process optimization


• Experience in the functional coordination of technical teams


• Degree in computer science, business informatics or comparable qualification
